Category: Zone BBS Q&A
Sorry if this has bee asked somewhere else, but after I updated my macbook,
the zone sounds stopped. Anyone know why this is and how I can fix it?
I have seen this too, sadly there is nothing I know that can be done. Not even changing the user agent matters.
This has to do with quicktime content. Quicktime content in safari isn't and wont be supported in the latest mac o s. There is nothing you can do to force safari to use the quicktime plug-in if you have it still in your internet plug-ins folder, it will be simpley ignored
I am using jaws 16 and windows 7; still cannot get sounds to play in anagram games; checked in i.e. 11 advanced tab and sounds are on, same for in my account here; they just suddenly stopped working about a week ago; frustrating playing games without them, although doable. no sound notification either, alt plus n and saying notification requires response, like when downloading from NLS Bard; wish this could be resolved; too frustrating!
We posted how to resolve it.
It isn't the Zone.
I never saw from you how to resolve it; I did follow one post to go into i.e. 11 tools, options, and advanced tab, and check to see if sounds are turned on; they were! could you e-mail me privately with what I seem to have not seen or missed at sugar1991@earthlink.net thank you so much! Sandy
Try resetting your IE to defaults.
If you need instructions say, I'll post them.
It really works you just have to set it up.
Moment!
We must use an internet explorer?
In fact it is possible to reenable Zone sounds in the latest version of Safari/oSX,
Leo posted a fix.
Go into Library/Internet Plugins/Disabled Internet Plugins. Find the Quicktime
plugin and move it into the main Internet Plugins folder. N.B. make sure you
move it rather than just copying it, so paste with command option v rather than
just command v. Close Safari and reopen it, all should be well.
Sounds work for me using nightly builds of firefox.
It only works if I'm using the 64 bit version for some reason.
Why they don't have a 64 bit firefox I don't know, it's been in nightly builds for some time now, and suprisingly quite stable.
I am using firefox 45.0 under windows xp 32 bit and sounds finally work with firefox.
